A social justice warrior receives–social justice!
Schadenfreude is a sin, and it's cruel to gloat–but I'm loving the tale of the feminist who took it on herself to berate a Lyft driver over his hula-girl dashboard bobble-head–and then got laughed off the Internet.
Here's the story, from Heat Street:
'Was just contacted by the Annaliese Lyft driver, he was in fact fired for a few days until she sent the video to Lyft which exonerated him.' Saw this on twitter.

'Was just contacted by the Annaliese Lyft driver, he was in fact fired for a few days until she sent the video to Lyft which exonerated him.' Saw this on twitter. The actually successful Uber/Lyft/apptaxi drivers are the ones who approach the job with professionalism and actually know proper customer service is invaluable. If you treat being an apptaxi driver like it's some casual hobby, you are going to get burnt. Treat it like a customer service job, learn sensible etiquette, avoid issues. Cut that shit off as soon as I heard her voice yikes.
Play the pixies. “You thought that was adorable,” she said to him. “You didn’t think of the pillaging of, like, the continent of Hawaii.”
The 'continent of Hawaii'!
The social justice warrior in the car has been identified as Annaliese Nielsen, the owner of a high profile LA-based digital girl’s club (think online sorority for rich annoying people). The video of the incident was anonymously delivered to journalist Lauren Southern, who uploaded it to YouTube.
Nielsen thought she was being clever by filming the incident, believing she was firmly on the side of justice.
“You will be published on Gawker,” Nielsen told the driver. “And you’ll be like the next internet meme, it’s going to be super funny.”
Sadly, though, though, Gawker shut down on Aug. 22 (the bobble-head incident took place in early July)–a $140 million invasion-of-privacy verdict over publishing a Hulk Hogan sex tape can do that to you. High roller meaning. Meanwhle, perhaps someone in that 'online sorority' decided that secret sisterhood wasn't so powerful and slipped the vid to libertarian-activist Southern.
You can view the vid here–or read theDaily Caller's summary here:
Nielsen follows up by saying the driver, as a “white male,” didn’t have the right to defend the doll because he is “the person who is least hurt in the situation.” The driver later states that he actually is Asian, prompting Nielsen to demand a precise description of his Asian heritage….
When another passenger comes to the driver’s defense and suggests the woman’s complaints are “pathetic,” the woman responds by demanding to know the passenger’s full name, presumably for later Gawker-related activities.
Ironically, Nielsen also accuses the driver of being “very rude and extremely entitled.”

“I’m sorry that you have no consideration for actual Hawaiian people who don’t want to be a bobblehead item in your car while you’re driving for Lyft,” she says. “You f—ing selfish dumbass idiot.”
The driver finally kicked Nielsen out of his car, and, according to Southern, who contacted him, Nielsen subsequently tried to get him fired from Lyft. Fortunately that didn't happen–or if it did, Lyft subsequently reinstated him. Meanwhile, Southern posted a photo on Twitter of the used paper plates, dirty forks, and other trash allegedly left behind in his back seat after Nielsen exited.
It might have been too late for Gawker, but the vid was an instant YouTube hit, with viewers deluging Nielsen's own Twitter account with so many raucous jeers that she shut it down.
Nielsen promptely went onto Facebook to accuse Southern of membership in the 'alt-right'–shades of Hillary Clinton! 'Naturally a barrage of harassment from strange men has been unleashed upon me,' she complained.
'Strange men'! Shouldn't I feel sad over this put-upon defender of the oppressed Hawaiian people? I'm sorry, but I just don't.
A video has emerged of a woman berating a rideshare driver for being 'disrespectful' and 'entitled' over the Hawaiian hula girl doll on his dashboard - but who is in the wrong?
The video from inside the Lyft car - similar to Uber - showed the woman known as 'AN' criticising the driver.

She asked him whether he thought about the 'pillaging of, like, continent of Hawaii', the Daily Mailreported.
The doll was offensive, she said.

The confused driver didn't seem to understand what the passenger was saying or what she meant.
'I'm not going to get rid of it because of that..I just didn't realise that it was offensive to anybody.'
AN suggested he might be the 'least hurt' in the situation because the driver was a 'white male', but he told the passenger that he was actually Asian.
'But now you're judging me, you're assuming where I'm from.
'Alright, well obviously you're going to give me a one star [a review], but I'm not taking it down, so I'm sorry about that.
'Do whatever you like, I'm not trying to offend you, if you want me to drop you off over here or at the next exit I can do that,' the driver said.
The passenger replied: 'I'm a passenger in your car, like, that doll is offensive to me, but you don't want to take it down because you, like, found it at [charity outlet] Goodwill and it was a good find.'
The driver said he didn't really know where to go with the conversation and he could not understand why 'beautiful Lady Lola' was offensive.
He also said it was his first bad experience as a Lyft driver.
AN said she wanted the doll removed because it was 'actually deeply offensive' and said the video was going to end up on news website Gawker, which was now defunct.
'And you'll be like the next internet meme, it's going to be super funny.
'Yeah, I mean like God forbid anyone take your special Hawaiian doll away from you..because it's a thing that actually affects my life, and a thing that doesn't affect your life.'
After two minutes of AN berating the driver, another passenger - who was not identified - said the whole conversation was irrelevant and 'sad'.
AN continued: 'That's a disrespectful object that you have in your car and whether you're Asian or not you should be considerate to the fact that you have passengers that don't find that thing to be..it might not be amusing to all passengers.'
The driver also said the woman was rude, which she denied.
'You have been actually very rude and extremely entitled.

Eventually, the woman got out after the driver ended the ride and asked her to leave.
'It's my car. I'm confirming a drop off. Here's a sidewalk. Have a wonderful night.'
